......made to measure caravan for a lucky cat
An unnamed stray Staffordshire cat is now sleeping in style, thanks to an amazing story at Cosford Caravans in Albrighton.
FIVE years ago the moggy wandered into the compound of Cosford Caravans and made herself at home. The kind hearted staff took to her at once and started to feed the tortoiseshell intruder on a daily basis.
Over time the cat has become a regular fixture at the Cosford site and is adored by customers who make a real fuss of her. The cat now even gets a weekly treat with a special food pouch on Wednesdays.
Recently, Mervyn Hughes, managing director of Cosford Caravans was in a business meeting with the MD of Bailey Caravans, Nick Howard, when the cat nonchalantly strolled past.
Nick enquired about the cat and asked where it slept. Mervyn explained to him that he spent his days on the site sleeping on chairs in the showroom and mooching around the caravans. The pampered cat was however, put out at the end of each working day.
Mervyn takes up the story. “Two weeks later, much to our amazement a miniature Bailey Orion caravan arrived at our Newport Road site, purpose-built by the Bailey engineers in Bristol, especially for our cat. In my 28 years here at Cosford, I have never seen anything quite like it.
“What a great way for Nick and his team to make a mark at our site, the ‘cat caravan’ is becoming a real talking point for visitors,” explained Mervyn Hughes.
